I have a model Model 700M Aprilaire humidifier, what direction should the fan be blowing? through the water evap. panel or through the vents of the humidifier.

Aprilaires' response:

Thank you for contacting us regarding your model 700. The fan on the 700 is designed to pull air from the duct through the water panel. After the air is pulled though the water panel and evaporates the water, the air is re-directed off of the outer cover back into the duct to be carried throughout your home.

The vents on the humidifier are designed to allow air to circulate under the cover to help cool the motor for the fan.

Monday, January 28, 2013 by Norman Jones:: Our Model 700M (approvimately 4 years old) hasn't worked for two years. When our furnace service firm cleaned the furnace we were told the solid state control card located inside the humifier housing was burned out and would cost $200.00 + a service call to replace; we declined because a new 700M is only $200. Later, I looked to see whether I could perhaps change the card myself but could not locate it. Can you describe where the solid state control card is located inside the 700M housing and whether or not it is as simple to replace as I imagined?
