Consumer question submitted:
700a, 700m 700...Aprilaire Power Humidifiers so then, where does the Model 700 come in?...how is it diff from the 700M and 700A
Aprilaires' response:
The model 700 is currently offered in two versions a 700M and also a 700. The difference between these two versions of humidifiers in that the 700M version is equipped with a non-digital manual control that can be duct mounted or mounted in the living space. The version 700 comes equipped with an automatic digital humidistat that can only be mounted in the return duct of the heating and cooling system.
The 700 version utilizes the automatic control allowing you to set it once at the beginning of the season and not have to typically adjust it rest of the humidifying season. This particular version utilizes an outdoor temperature sensor that will take approximately 400,000 temperature readings a day to automatically adjust the indoor humidity setting based on the outside temperature.
The 700M version utilizes the manual non-digital humidistat that requires you to adjust setting anytime there is a noticeable outdoor temperature change. The advantage to this particular version is that the control can be mounted in the living space if desired by the customer.
The 700A version that is referenced is an obsolete version that was replaced with the 700 version. The A version utilized the same control as the 700 version but came equipped with extra pieces that are no longer required for the application. These two versions are identical in operation and performance but has a variety of components removed from the packaging as they were not required or necessary.
