What does the digital controller number represent?

Consumer question:

The Model 400 replaced the Skuttle humidifier. However, they left the old humidistate which they later replaced with the automatic one. Since doing so, there is no water flow to panel. The temp outside is about 45 and the humidistate registers at 30% the humidistate was lowered from 4 to 3. I don’t want to burn the unit out. Why is there no water flow? thank you.

Aprilaires’ response:

Thank you for contacting Aprilaire.

On the digital /automatic controller the numbers represent the following…

7 = 45%
6 =40%
5 = 35%
4 = 30%
3 = 25%
2 = 20%
1 = 15%

If the current level of humidity in your home is 30%, and you have it set requesting a level of 4 – 3 (30% down to 25%) it would not come on because it does not have to. The only time the humidifier will come on is when the level of humidity in your home is below the level you are requesting.

Just to be sure, turn the dial to 7 (45%) and it should come on when the furnace comes on.
