Our Aprilaire humidifier has started to make a loud ringing noise. What is going on?

Consumer question:

Our Aprilaire humidifier has started to make a loud ringing noise. It doesn’t last the whole heat cycle but seems to be making the noice for a longer period of time now. What can be the problem?

Aprilaires’ response:

The water solenoid valve in your Aprilaire humidifier makes an audible sound anytime it opens and closes. This is normal operation. On occasion a mineral deposit may become lodged in the valve. When this occurs the valve may make a buzzing sound as the plunger is not seating properly. You may dislodge the deposit by lightly tapping the valve.

Our Aprilaire 760 model is now about 7 years old. The fan housing unit has started making what can be best described as an ongoing "chirping" noise from the fan housing area.. I’ve removed the cover and spun the fan and it appears to be mounted well with no wobbling or looseness. I’ve tapped on the solenoid to no avail. Any suggestions?

I just had the model 800 installed. Every time it fill, I get a thunk when it stops. This noise travels thru the pipes in the house and is really annoying at night when you try to sleep and it is quiet. Should thre be a stem with air at the point where the water line connects to stop the thunk or bang like other water line have at faucets? If this is not the issue, then what is the solution?

    Thanks
