OK, this is a weird article, (Boulder, CO. Duh!) but I have to admit there’s good advice regarding indoor pollution, ventilation and VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds); basically poisons.
The article also mentions a good point about dust being blown thru the furnace. But their solution has me thinking that they’re smoking too many shower curtains (read the article to understand this reference). Yes, changing the furnace filter regularly is important, but there are other considerations.
Standard furnace filters only trap so much. Look at the difference between these expensive air conditioner coils. The clean one was protected with a high efficiency air cleaner, the dirty one was protected with a standard 1" filter.
So a high efficiency air cleaner not only traps more dust and allergens from the air you breathe, but it also protects a very expensive HVAC system.
That’s where health, PROTECTION AND ENERY SAVINGS comes in.
You make the call.
